Job Description

The Supervisor will provide a professional, positive work and learning environment in correlation with the Director, RECE and non-RECE Staff, Pathways Resource Teachers & Support Facilitators, Board of Directors, Parents, Volunteers, Lambton College Students and any call in staff. The Supervisor will work under the supervision of the Director in conjunction with the Board of Directors.

The Supervisor(s) will be responsible for preparing all Ministry of Education documents for license renewals.

Supervisor will oversee all front line staff (RECE and unqualified) with regard to the following job description:

  • Actively and continuously monitor the activities of the children.
  • Promote and practice safety and well-being of children and staff. Ensure adequate safety measures are taken daily to provide a safe work environment.
  • Comply with and meet the care giving needs of all children including special needs children and be aware of all children’s Individual Plans (located in prospective files).
  • Actively document, plan and implement program plans on a daily and weekly basis throughout the year following the centre’s Program Statement. All plans will be developed as a “Team” with other RECE and non-RECE Kiddies Korner staff. Promote the four foundations of How Does Learning Happen (Expression, Engagement, Belonging and Well-Being). Document and plan activities that support the four foundations and create and display Learning Stories each week.
  • Oversee the general welfare of the classroom and its contents.
  • Understand and comply with the behaviour management policies, confidentiality policies, discipline policies, required qualifications and training, job responsibilities and requirements.
  • Be familiar with current policies and procedures for staff and children.
  • Be familiar with agenda set forth by the Early Child Care Years Act (2014), County of Lambton Children’s Services, How Does Learning Happen, ELECT and other relevant licensing and programming material.
  • Attend at least one Board Meeting during the school year which will be paid for at the agreed hourly rate (see below).
  • Handle new and unexpected situations in a calm, positive and effective manner. Talk to children at their height level and language ability.
  • Positively interact with children, all staff, Pathways Resource Teacher and Support Facilitator and parents at all times.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage children’s absences, staff schedules, and files.
  • Oversee annual license renewals and staff performance evaluations.
  • Complete monthly attendance and billing summary sheets.
  • Update parent contact information and display children’s allergy information.
  • Collect payroll sheets and maintain daily logs.
  • Ensure proper sign-in/out procedures and email program information to parents.
  • Facilitate monthly fire drills and playground checks.


  • 5 years experience as a RECE (or equivalent as determined and approved by Kiddies Korner.)
  • The Supervisor will need to be approved by the Ministry of Education to complete the application process.
  • Must have current First Aid, Immunization Record (yellow card or summary from physician) and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Pay: $27.86 per hour


  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Courtright, ON N0N 1H0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
