Early Childhood Educator or Assistant Teacher

 The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, mature individual with excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will be able to work independently as well as a part of a dynamic team. Patience and a love of children is mandatory. The successful applicant will be a part of a team providing an emergent curriculum and safe learning environment for children. Registered ECE designation preferred. Current CPR and First Aid required. Current criminal reference check required. Must be 18+ years old.

Job Description:

• Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences based on observations of the children’s interests
• Ensure positive interactions and behaviour guidance for children that encourages self-regulation and healthy self-esteem
• Ensure the safety of the children and their environment
• To work and speak effectively and professionally with parents, families, outside agencies, and other team members
• Effective interpersonal skills under all types of conditions, exhibiting a supportive and positive approach
• Contribute to the on-going operations of the centre ensuring centre policies and Ministry standards are followed and maintained
• Promote the centre within the community
• Must be flexible and willing to work at all locations as needed
• Must have transportation, will need to drive to different sites within the workday

Job Type:

2 Full-time/part time positions (30-36 hrs/week)

4 Part time positions ( minimum 25 hrs/week – potential for more)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

Rotating shift within 6:30am – 5:30 pm

Start Date: September/October 2023

Location: Petrolia, ON and Wyoming, ON areas

Salary: $18.25 – $19.15 per hour

*$2 per hour is provided through a Government Wage Enhancement Grant*
