Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform repair work on fork trucks and related vehicles
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components and/or systems
- Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
- Service attachments and working tools
- Verify and repair emission control systems
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
- Rebuild powertrain components, hydraulic pumps and motors.
- Repairs electrical equipment
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Reading and repairing hydraulic and electrical schematics and systems
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
- Licensed or hold a Journeyman license in Automotive or Heavy Equipment
- Possess or plan to attain a 310 License
- Will consider truck (310T) or auto (310S) technician
- Must be an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic with previous Aerial & Lift Truck experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience working with Heavy Equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
- Superior mechanical aptitude
- Shop and/or field work experience
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Valid driver’s license
