Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform repair work on fork trucks and related vehicles
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components and/or systems
  • Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • Rebuild powertrain components, hydraulic pumps and motors.
  • Repairs electrical equipment
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Reading and repairing hydraulic and electrical schematics and systems
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

  • Licensed or hold a Journeyman license in Automotive or Heavy Equipment
  • Possess or plan to attain a 310 License
  • Will consider truck (310T) or auto (310S) technician
  • Must be an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic with previous Aerial & Lift Truck experience
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working with Heavy Equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
  • Superior mechanical aptitude
  • Shop and/or field work experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Valid driver’s license
