Getting AHEAD in a Just-Gettin’-By World is an innovative workshop series that is built from the “Bridges Out of Poverty” framework. Getting AHEAD in a Just-Getting-by-World is a 4 week -10 Module workshop initiative to assist clients in their employment-readiness program. It is a facilitated process of discovery where information, concepts, and analytical tools are shared with participants to explore the impact of poverty in their lives and the dynamics of economic class. Some people are looking for a way out, getting unstuck, starting over, and changing their lives. The program is to increase all of our client resources, build confidence, increase prospects for sustainable employment and to gain support from others who are on a similar path. Our clients will be taking advantage of an opportunity that can lead to personal growth and increased stability in their lives. The most powerful shift for participants is increased motivation and self-efficacy as they move forward with their future plan.
Introductory Getting Ahead for Front-Line Service Workers
A Professional Development opportunity:
The Introductory workshop is a 15-hour program held over 5 weeks, 3 hours once a week. The program is an introductory version of the Getting AHEAD in a ‘Just Gettin’ By World (GA) program. The training workshop is an overview of each of the Getting AHEAD 10 modules. It provides details about the full four week Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’ By World program and defines the criteria and suitability for clients. The program will enhance front-line workers ability to support clients in stabilizing their situations and building resources. It highlights a self assessment of resources and a process to help conceptualize the difference between what life is like now and what life could be for clients.
