Job Description

As Preferred Towing, we are looking for candidates with good attention to detail for the
Diesel Class A Mechanic/Motor Coach position to maintain our fleet.
Primary duty is maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and
preventive maintenance requirements: correcting vehicle deficiencies; making
adjustments and alignments; and keeping records.

Need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to
maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with office staff on a daily basis.

Must posses:
• Diesel – Class “A” Mechanic license
• Motor coach license
• A valid driver’s license
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
• Good IT and diagnostic skills
Experience required: 3-5 years of experience with Diesel motors as a Class ‘A’ Mechanic

Skills required:
• Attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Good organisational skills

Duties and responsibilities:
1. Maintains fleet by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and
damaged parts.
2. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance
schedules.
3. Corrects vehicle deficiencies.
4. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and
systems.
5. Complies with federal and provincial vehicle requirements.
6. Maintains a clean and safe shop space.
7. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
8. Keeps shop equipment operating.
9. Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service, and parts options.
10.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; and reading
technical and regulation publications.

Full-time: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday 08.00 AM – 05.00 PM
Compensation: $35/hour wage + Full benefits and pension plan
Start date: Immediately
